Meet the teacher
Hi! My name is Laura Roelike and I am so excited to be a part of the great team of teachers at Albany Elementary School. More importantly, I am excited to be your child's teacher! It’s going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures. I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us! I am eager to learn all about you, but first I want to tell you a few things about me.
I was born and raised in Wadena, MN and am the baby of the family. I have one older brother, Brian. My parents still live in Wadena. When I graduated from high school I attended college in Fergus Falls for two years and then graduated from Minnesota State University-Moorhead in 2003 with my degree in teaching. In 2017 I graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University with a Masters in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership.
I live in the country between Albany and Freeport with my husband, Tom, and my son, Caleb, who is an eighth grader at Albany Area Middle School. We also have a dog, Blackjack.
For the first few years after graduating from college I did a lot of substitute teaching close to home. I’ve worked with every grade from preschool up through 12th grade! Before teaching in Albany, I taught first grade in Dawson-Boyd and third grade in Alexandria. What I love most about teaching is that every day brings something new and exciting to the classroom.
